Welcome to the New Knifty!

I started in 2016 with little.to.no.knowledge on Etsy, the world of handmade selling, and living in a small and gross duplex in Fort Collins. I was just about to be laid off from my job as a paralegal and my world was about to pivot wildly both professionally (now I work in non-profit communications and marketing, which includes graphic design) and within my family of origin.

My blog covered all kinds of topics, from knitting, fashion, books, recipes, whatever I was thinking about. I struggled to stand out from the crowd on Etsy and was frustrated with the lack of sales, but would get crazy excited whenever something sold. It’s honestly embarrassing to look back to see the pictures I took and things that I made – but that’s how I know there has been SO much growth.

Fast forward 8 years aaaaaand…

  • I am now a mama to two little girls
  • My husband and I just celebrated 9 years of marriage
  • We moved from the Fort Collins area to South Denver
  • I’m permanently gluten-free
  • I’ve written 17 of my own patterns – 16 knit patterns and 1 embroidery pattern
  • I was diagnosed with ADHD in 2021 after I had my first daughter
  • I’ve been working in nonprofit marketing/communications/development for 8 years, and I’m increasingly able to apply what I learn there to my business
  • I ventured into photography
  • KLT is now an LLC!

With all that, it’s time to pivot and start afresh, hopefully with a more streamlined focus with content that feels valuable to those who’ve joined this fiber journey with me. I so appreciate you!!
