Yarn Store Review: The Social Knitwork in Dallas

We were recently in Texas and as always, I had to scope out some local knit shops!

The Social Knitwork is just north of Dallas and was on our way from Tyler to Galveston. I literally gasped when I saw the name of the shop and the cute tote bags that they had, I love a clever pun.

I think you need this bag. I did!

I was greeted warmly and the staff were super friendly, asking if I needed help or had a specific project in mind. I explained that I was just traveling through and loved to see local shops and they let me be. I appreciate it when staff is there to help but not right on top of you!

The shop is organized by yarn weight and then by brand, which makes it easy to navigate and see what they have. They had a good mix of favorites (Malabrigo), things that I had seen but wasn’t as familiar with (Cumulus, I almost left with this), and local brands such as the Bashful Armadillo.

Nate appreciated that there was a BBQ place next door, ha!

They also had a wall of needles and stitching tools, and a cute little area to do your own social knitworking. It was so nice to meet y’all and I’d love to come back next time I’m in town!

Aesthetic: 4 // Variety: 4 // Notions: 5 // Staff: 5 – Overall 4.5 stars
